Description
A rich and savory pulled pork infused with the fruity sweetness of cherry cola. Slow-cooked to tender perfection with a glossy, caramelized BBQ glaze.

- 4 lb pork shoulder (Boston butt), trimmed
- 1 can (12 oz) cherry cola
- 1 cup favorite BBQ sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the pork shoulder generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork for 3-5 minutes per side until browned.
- Remove pork from the pan and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic for 3 minutes until softened.
- Transfer the seared pork and sautéed aromatics into the slow cooker.
- Pour the cherry cola and BBQ sauce over the meat. Stir in the smoked paprika and apple cider vinegar.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
- Remove the pork to a cutting board and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Shred the pork using two forks, removing any large pieces of excess fat.
- Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker and toss with the remaining juices until fully glazed.
