- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar (for dough)
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar (for glaze)
- 1 tsp almond extract (for glaze)
- 1–2 tbsp milk or water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together softened butter and 1 cup confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg yolks and 1 teaspoon of almond extract.
- Stir in flour and salt until just combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are very lightly golden.
- Cool cookies completely on a wire rack.
- Mix glaze ingredients (sugar, extract, milk) until smooth.
- Dip the tops of cooled cookies into glaze and let set for 30 minutes.
