Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar (for dough)
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp almond extract (for glaze)
  • 12 tbsp milk or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter and 1 cup confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg yolks and 1 teaspoon of almond extract.
  4. Stir in flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are very lightly golden.
  7. Cool cookies completely on a wire rack.
  8. Mix glaze ingredients (sugar, extract, milk) until smooth.
  9. Dip the tops of cooled cookies into glaze and let set for 30 minutes.
